For most Latinos, dancing comes as second nature, a skill honed throughout the years by dancing with tipsy aunties at family functions, quinceañera parties, and all types of events.
For a foreigner, though, getting good at this very important social skill might be more difficult.
But worry not, there are plenty of dance academies in Medellín. Some cater to foreigners and even offer lessons in English. Still, practicing Spanish while learning Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, or Reggaetón is not a bad idea at all.
Paisa women are unnaturally good at dancing; it’s like they’re born with a pre-installed dancing package. Never met a Paisa girl who was bad at dancing, especially reggaetón and merengue.
So, naturally, they expect at least mild competency from the men they date.
If you’re shy, some of these establishments can arrange private lessons, so the feedback is more immediate and you can improve faster.
